Gender is actually a significant factor in shaping each of our identies. By birth, children are classified in two groups; male and female. Although studies have made it very clear that gender is socially constructed, Sexuality has been so thoroughly embedded in our organizations, our actions, our philosophy and the desires, that it appears to all of us to be completely natural. In lots of cultural situations, gender can determine, our rights and duties, the social, economical and political roles, what attitudes and behaviors are expected from all of us and how our company is viewed. Contemporary society attempts education as one of the leading providers in planning and expanding young children and adolescence. Schools are key institutions for the construction of gender, setting up a prime site for socialization and discussion (MCEECDYA, 1996). Although educational systems do not teach these kinds of gender variations to students but rather that they reinforce them. These differences can be seen throughout the different treatment and final results between children at institution. Although schools have commenced to enforce gender equity, imbalance of genders is still evident.

School curriculum, Textbooks and class blood pressure measurements, Teacher to pupil and pupil to pupil relations, School supervision, discipline actions, sport, knowledge, play and assessment are areas which will still display strong sexuality imbalances. These phenomena take part in the complex dynamic of gender and schooling, making a range of interpretations of masculinity and femininity in which is viewed by simply society (MCEECDYA, 1996).
