Hector versus. Achilles

In Homers Iliad many of the men characters screen characteristics define the heroic warrior code of historic Greece. They will try to get hold of glory and power through victories in war; though have a distinct human part. Throughout many conflicts referred to in the Iliad their strengths and weaknesses appear obvious. Two instances of this are Achilles and Hector. Both these men try to uphold the warrior code but with noticeably different approaches in war, relationships and devotion with their country. In spite of the differences as well as the opposing attributes; they also have many similar characteristics which logically lead to an evaluation between the two men. That they both screen behavior that might be described as heroic. The 1st way in which Achilles and Hector act in another way is the way they approach battle. Achilles sees that he is meant to perish in battle. Yet he still combats for his honor and glory. Achilles is known pertaining to his brutal and intense antics in war. A large number of would arrive to think that he is not very heroic. This individual demonstrates the cold and brutal character of warfare. When Agamemnon takes Brises, Achilles war prize, he refrains from fighting in battle. Achilles approach to battle is mostly for the glory of his very own name. His motives will be purely geared towards the remembrance of call him by his name, not the achievements of his region. All that he does in war can be purely for personal gain. Although his durability and valor in warfare is very brave, his reasons behind it are generally not so. Among Achilles simply reason for struggling that could be professional is if he fights for the loss of life of Patrucles. His method of war otherwise is strictly for personal gain. Hector however has many good fight inside the battle. Hector is a great honorable man who is popular among his region and relatives. He is a great honorable warrior and his man morals are those regarded as of a hero. His method to war is definitely honor and glory intended for his country.
