Realism and Surrealism were much the same and different at the same time. In realism the artist wished to keep truth and accuracy and reliability to what these people were depicting. In surrealism, the artists desired to take the fact and a new dimension to it, to create it more dream like. During the realistic look period the earth was under-going a great change. The industrial innovation was simply ending, increasing numbers of people where shifting from facilities and the countryside to the cities during a length of great urbanization. Surrealism became popular during the interwar years among World Warfare I and II. Europe was recovering from the massive war, America was enjoying an interval of rapid industrial expansion and then the truly amazing Depression struck and the universe changed again.

The realism art movements began inside the 1850's in France soon after the 1848 revolution ((Finocchio, 2000). During the realism period the world was going through wonderful changes. Realistic look began soon after the industrial wave had ended. During this period there were many agriculutral technological developments that improved the production of facilities. More and more people experienced moved to the cities to find work. As well the space between the doing work classes widened. According to Eli Whiney, there was zero bigger variation than between your working school and the fresh middle course (Whitney, 2014). Due to scientific advances the significant class was becoming jobless. Machines commenced replacing personnel, skilled and unskilled alike.

The realism art motion reflected the realities of everyday life. The artists desired to draw attention to what was going on in the every day lives with the people. In respect to Ross Finocchio, realistic look artists declined Romanticism fine art and wanted to convey the truth and accuracy and reliability of contemporary your life (Finocchio, 2000). Artists like Gustave Courbet, wanted to highlight what was truly going on in the lives of the people he seen, which Courbet did along with his famous Natural stone Breakers piece of art, in which he depicts a new man and an old gentleman hard at the office breaking up stones. An designer who was a contempory of Courbet was Jean-Francois Millet who according to Finocchio, whent the opposite direction of numerous people. Even though many people where leaving the agricultural countryside to the cities. Millet did the contrary he going out to the country to get away in the rapid regarding the urban centers ( (Finocchio, 2000). Where he wanted to honestly depict your life in the country communites that is reflected in numerous of his paintings just like the Bather, Harvesters Resting, and A Farmer's Wife Capturing ( (Unknown, 2014).

According to James Voorhies of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Surrealism started in the 1910's and lasted until the start of World War II in Europe and the 1950's in the united states (Voorhies, 2014). Surrealism came about mostly through the inter warfare years between World War I and World War II. This is a time of big change specially in Europe even though the individual countries were in recovery mode from the warfare that devastated the terrain. Most Countries in europe saw a significant economic growth after the warfare. Quality of life for several Europeans improved except for Germans who were struggling to spend the large financial obligations and charges from the cost of the battle. In the United States it was the Roaring Twenties, which was also a time of great financial and sociable growth. Surrealism was afflicted with the Great Depression which was reflected in some of their paintings that can be seen in artwork by Stella artois lager Snead and Joan Miro (Unknown, Surrealism (c. 1921 CE - 1942 CE), 2014).
